A small business built on a genuine love for dogs

Inge's Groom Room is my independent grooming salon in Maryport, right on the doorstep of the Lake District. I am not a chain, and I have no ambition to be. Every dog that comes through my door receives individual attention in a calm, unhurried environment.

Whether your dog is a seasoned salon regular or stepping in for the very first time, I take things at their pace. Your dog's comfort will always come before a tight schedule.

Meet Inge

Hi, I'm Inge.

I'll be honest with you: this business started because I simply couldn't imagine doing anything else.

I have had dogs my whole life. Right now I have three of my own at home, and they are without question the centre of my world. I understand what it feels like to hand your dog over to someone else — that quiet, slightly anxious moment as you pass the lead. I take that seriously, and I never forget it.

I trained as a professional groomer because I wanted to do it properly. The Lake District is full of active dogs — Spaniels, Labradors, Border Collies, Terriers — dogs that get muddy, tangled, and absolutely love every second of it. Getting them clean, comfortable, and looking their best again is something I genuinely enjoy, every single time.

Maryport is my home. When you bring your dog to me, I want you to feel like you have left them with someone who truly cares — because you have.
