Please read through these terms before booking with us. If you have any questions at all, don't hesitate to get in touch.

These terms and conditions govern the services provided by Inge's Groom Room ("the salon", "we", "us") to our clients ("you", "the owner"). By booking an appointment with us, you agree to the terms set out below.

1. General

Your dog's safety, comfort, and wellbeing are my absolute priority. I treat every dog as an individual and take care to make each visit as calm and positive as possible. However, in accepting my services, you confirm that you understand and agree to the following conditions.

By bringing your dog to Inge's Groom Room, you confirm that to the best of your knowledge your dog is in good general health, is not suffering from any infectious illness or condition, and is up to date with required vaccinations. If your dog has any medical conditions, behavioural concerns, or has had recent surgery or injury, please inform me prior to or at the time of the appointment.

I reserve the right to refuse or discontinue a groom at any point if I believe it is in the best interest of your dog's welfare.

2. Appointments & Cancellations

I ask that all cancellations or rescheduling requests are made with a minimum of 24 hours' notice. This allows me to offer the slot to another client.

Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice may be subject to a cancellation fee of up to 50% of the booked service price.

In the event of a no-show — where a client does not arrive for their appointment and has not contacted me — I reserve the right to charge the full cost of the booked service. Repeated no-shows may result in future bookings requiring a non-refundable deposit.

I will always do my best to accommodate emergencies and understand that life can be unpredictable. Please just get in touch and I will do what I can.

If I need to cancel or reschedule your appointment due to illness or an unforeseen circumstance, I will contact you as early as possible and offer you the next available slot at no extra charge.

3. Health & Vaccinations

For the safety of all dogs in my care, I require that all dogs attending the salon are up to date with their core vaccinations, including distemper, parvovirus, and leptospirosis. I may ask to see your dog's vaccination record.

If your dog arrives at the salon and is found to have fleas, ticks, or other external parasites, I will need to treat them before proceeding with the groom. A parasite treatment surcharge will apply, and I will inform you before proceeding.

Dogs that are visibly unwell — showing signs of vomiting, diarrhoea, excessive lethargy, or suspected infectious illness — will not be groomed for the safety of other animals. You will be asked to rebook once your dog has recovered and been seen by a vet if appropriate.

Please inform me in advance of any known allergies, skin sensitivities, or conditions such as epilepsy, heart conditions, or hip/joint problems that may affect how I handle or position your dog during the groom.

4. Payment

Payment is due at the time of the appointment. I accept cash and card payments. Prices are confirmed at the time of booking and may vary slightly depending on the condition of the coat, dog behaviour, or time required to complete the groom safely.

Where the final price may differ from the original estimate — for example in the case of a particularly matted coat or an unexpectedly long appointment — I will discuss this with you before proceeding.

Prices quoted online or verbally are estimates only and the final price will be confirmed in person.

5. Matted Coats

If your dog's coat is severely matted, de-matting may not always be the kindest option. Forcing a comb through heavy matting causes significant discomfort and can damage the skin. In many cases, I will recommend clipping the coat short to remove the matting humanely.

I will always discuss the options with you before proceeding. However, where the welfare of the dog requires immediate action, I may proceed with the safest option and explain my reasoning afterwards.

An additional charge may apply for heavily matted coats due to the extra time and care required. I will always advise you of this in advance where possible.

I am happy to provide advice on how to prevent matting between appointments — please just ask.

6. Photography

I sometimes take photographs of dogs in my care for use on social media, the website, or promotional materials. These photos are used to celebrate the wonderful dogs I work with and to share the work I do.

If you would prefer that your dog is not photographed, or that no photos are shared publicly, please let me know and I will ensure your wishes are respected. You can update your preference at any time by contacting me.

I will never include identifying information about you or your dog (such as full names or addresses) in public posts without your explicit permission.

7. Liability

I take every reasonable precaution to ensure the safety and wellbeing of your dog while in my care. However, Inge's Groom Room cannot be held liable for any pre-existing conditions that become apparent or worsen during the grooming process, including hidden skin conditions, injuries, or underlying health issues that were not disclosed.

In the unlikely event that your dog sustains an injury during their groom, I will contact you immediately, provide appropriate first aid, and advise veterinary attention if required. I hold professional indemnity insurance for the protection of both parties.

It is the owner's responsibility to ensure that all relevant medical history, behavioural information, and health details are disclosed prior to the appointment. I cannot be held responsible for issues arising from information that was not shared with me.

By bringing your dog to Inge's Groom Room, you acknowledge that grooming can occasionally reveal pre-existing conditions and agree that I act in good faith and in the best interests of your dog at all times.
